has asked if I will post this concert
The concert starts at 3pm and is at St Simon's Church, Hazlewell Rd SW15 6LU
The performance will be by
St Simon's Choir and Players
with the
Musical Director being the said David Hoyland.
The programme will include
Faure's Requiem
Cantique de Jean Racine
& poems by
Wilfred Owen
There will be a retiring collection for
The Royal British Legion

A fine performance of Holt's I Vow to Thee My Country, which you generally hear sung as a hymn, or with an orchestra as part of The Planets, but not usually both and was therefore a considerable thrill.
Also Faure's Requiem, and Faure's Cantique de Jean Racine, which he wrote at 19 while still at music college, but which is still very much performed. And a short piece of Elgar that I did not know.
