This is a delightful walk from Surrey into Kent passing an iron age hill fort and the charming village of Cowden with its cozy pub for lunch. Note that we will be doing SWC.362 in reverse. It has been done in reverse before with positive feedback and the morning trains to Dormans are much better this Sunday. For ease of route finding, please bring a map or GPX file. More information and the route can be found here.
Lunch is at the Fountain, Cowden, TN8 7JG, 01342 850528, after 10 km (6 miles). Post walk refreshments can be had at the Henry the VIII pub in Hever, a short diversion from the main route and about 25 minutes walk from the station.
Look forward to seeing you there!

Hello, is anyone else thinking of doing this walk? I don't want to walk alone;)
Yes, I am planning to do this walk!
I will like to join as well!
n=8 on a w=fine-mostly-sunny-day. I had not done this walk before and found it very enjoyable -- lots of great views across the weald with gentle rolling hills. The group generally stuck together -- save for one who fell behind only to mysteriously be settled in the lunch pub before us! Three ate at the pub with everyone else popping in for a drink. We all left together save for one who opted to continue sampling the reduced price ale left over from a festival on Saturday..... we met her again on the train home.... For those not following the news, there was a large water outage in Kent yesterday caused by a power failure at the Bough Beech treatment facility..... at the lunch pub there was no water in the toilets and they served drinks in plastic cups..... but somehow managed to prepare and serve our lunch... there were not many diners..... so my suspicion is that they were only really honoring pre-booked tables for food..... Towards the end of the walk, three opted for the short diversion to the Henry the 8th in Hever.....only to find it had closed for the day because of the water outage.... with a brisk step we did manage to make it back to the station for the 5:07pm with the rest of the group. A fun day out!
I believe that Pubs and restaurants are required by law to close if there is no water for the toilets so good idea to ring and check if pubs are open.
