Distance: Approximately 5.5 miles or 9 km for those more metrically minded

The short northern loop of this walk (with short cut) makes for a lovely little evening country walk….an easy journey from London and gentle undulating countryside….with a splash of purple ….The walk route passes by the usually very impressive lavender field at Castle Farm which should be in good bloom now… More information about the route can be found here.
I thought we might try the Samuel Palmer for post walk refreshies this time.....
Look forward to seeing you there!

9 alighted from the rather delayed specified train and soon bumped into another in the church yard. Given the delayed start we opted to shorten the route by just walking out to the lavender and back. The lavender did not disappoint — deep purple covered the fields and its scent was in the air. We bumped into number n=11 on the way back and most enjoyed drinks and food on the patio of the Samuel Palmer on a w=warm-and-breezy-evening.
