10 walkers assembled at the steps of Albert Memorial for picnic, shared wine, fruits, biscuits, 1 came just when everyone was leaving, 1 bought ticket but sent her apologies being unwell to come, we met two inside the concert hall. So n=13. We were lucky as the rain God granted us a free pass.
The concert was brilliant. The female German conductor Anja Bihlmaier was captivating, all agreed, there has not been enough gender equality in the music world for female conductor to thrive. We need more... The young German violinist Tobias Feldmann played beautifully and was equally charming. Inspired by Mirian Schapiro's painting, Sarah Gibson composed the modern piece Warp and Weft which celebrated the work by women, a very interesting piece... Sadly Sarah passed away from cancer recently aged just 38...
We met briefly at the interval, then after the show to share our thoughts before departing for South Ken Tube station. A very enjoyable evening for all.
