n=5 walkers met outside the station and agreed to follow the newly added residential road option out of Wimbledon and then the A road (High Street) route on the way back, to pass the 'tea' options.
A very agreeable route, with lots of tree cover (handy on this day of w=intermittent-spittle), some heathland, some scrub, some grassland. All in, a good mix, also including a short stretch along the Beverley Brook and a passing of the windmill on the Common, as well as a heron in a pond. There were some rumblings by the two local walkers about the route missing out some of the best bits of the Common, but who am I to judge? It was my first ever foray into this postcode (on a walk).
We got back into town onto the High Street at 20.15 hours and settled for the first (of many) good food options: The Rose & Crown (Young's).
A very good evening walk option.
