Impromptu Evening Social Winter Lights Walk at Canary Wharf

Canary Wharf Circular

Meet: 18:45 at DLR-side exit of the Canary Wharf Jubilee Line Tube Station

Distance:  Not far...the full circuit takes about 1.5 - 2 hours depending on time spent at installations

This is an impromptu city social evening walk, taking advantage of a Winter Lights installation currently taking place at Canary Wharf. The route passes by a number of light based installations scattered around Canary Wharf and makes for an interesting evening out in fresh winter air. More information on the installations and the suggested route can be found here.

There are a number of watering holes in the area for post walk refreshments.

Thank you to Karen for guiding us through the Winter Lights event,
a most enjoyable walk.

n=12 mostly familiar faces managed to assemble outside the Jubilee Line exit, coincidently at a very crowed installation number 1. We then set off on the suggested route exploring the various installations in w=cold-conditions. Overall, I think most of the installations were interesting -- naturally some more so than others. Amazingly, we managed to negotiate the crowded (but not overwhelmingly so) route largely together. Back at the tube, some set off home and 7 (which then became 4) went for dinner and a drink. A fun night out!
