I did this walk on Monday and noticed that there was a green van selling refreshments, close to the windmill, as you climb up to the ridge.
I will be on the 10.03 train from Victoria and will wait at Hassocks for the London Bridge train.
I hadn't realised the Victoria train goes to Hassocks too so no need to change at East Croydon.
Moved from the upcoming Lewes to Southease walk:

n=18 including some new faces and locals plus a dog on today's walk in w=mainly-sunny-weather with a cooling breeze . Little or no mud despite yesterday's heavy rain. I believe 3 went for a pub lunch. The rest picnicked along the way. We got a bit strung out and stopped in different places. 3 veered right at Black Cap and entered Lewes by the prison. A few reached Lewes around the same time. Some went for drinks, 2 went to Carafe cafe for tea/coffee and cake which were good. A few got the 16.21 train back to London."
