Lyme Regis Weekend - Fri 27th June to Monday 30th June 2025

All train, bus and tide timetables for each day will be posted when confirmed.

 Travel: Nearest to10am train from London Waterloo to Axminster.    Approximately 3 hour journey

Accomodation:  Plenty of accommodation in Lyme, from BnBs, self catering, hotels etc.  https://www.visit-dorset.com/lyme-regis/where-to-stay/

 Draft Itinerary

Friday 27th June 2025:  After arriving (approx. 1.30pm) in Axminster, walk from the station to Lyme Regis.    

Distance: 6.6 miles approx.

Toughness:  Mainly across fields, and through woodlands, and alongside streams.

GPX file and full details to be provided.

OR

Take the bus to Lyme Regis on First Bus X51/X53 (takes about 30 minutes).

Saturday 28th June 2025

Bus to Seaton to do a circular walk from Seaton via Beer to Branscombe along the coast, and return to Seaton via inland route. 

Travel:  378 Bus from Lyme Regis  to Seaton. 

Length of walk: 8.6 miles

Sunday 29th  June 2025: Coastal walk

Circular walk from Lyme Regis via the Golden Cap.  Full details including GPX track will be provided

Distance: 11.5 miles

Toughness: Undulating coastal walk.

West Bay Option: walk from Lyme Regis as above, to the Golden Cap and continue on to West Bay. 

Distance (from Lyme to West Bay): 10.3 miles

Toughness: Strenuous as it involves several climbs

Return to Lyme by bus. Full details to be provided.

Monday 30th June 2025

Walk back to Axminster along a different route from Friday (or take the bus)

Most of the route will be along the Monarch Way, and part of the Wessex Ridgeway

Distance: 11.9 miles

GPX and full details: to be provided

Return Trains from Axminster Station.
