10 off the posted train plus,1 off a slightly later train made a total of n=11 on a fine day, w=sunny-with-a-light-breeze-and-gathering-cloud. Paths were dry and none of the lanes were flooded despite yesterday's rain. This is a very pleasant walk with no stiles and lots of lovely views as we went up and down hills. We made good progress to Chenies arriving there before the pub opened at midday. One dined in the pub, the rest picnicked nearby, some in the garden of the Baptist church where we were made to feel very welcome with offers of tea and coffee. Several picnickers joined the diner for a drink in the pub before setting off on the afternoon stretch. One picnicker had set off without delay planning to do an extended walk. The rest of us reached Chesham just after 3pm. Five had tea and cake at the Drawing Room, one went elsewhere in search of vegan cake and two went to the Mad Squirrel tap room where they enjoyed the beer. Three caught the 16.00 train, the Drawing Room group were in no hurry to leave and presumably caught the next train.
