Exiting the station, we found a large meet-up group outside. Panic ensued and the n=5 of us set off on a ‘shortcut’ in case they were heading to the Cock and Rabbit. The shortcut turned out to be a long cut taking us through parts of Chesham we’d never seen before. Luckily the meet-ups didn’t go our way after all.
One of our group fshoomed ahead and wasn’t seen again. The others tried to fshoom ahead too, leaving Mr Tiger behind. But don’t you worry readers, they caught him up later.
Hopes of dining at the Cock and Rabbit were dashed. It was reservations only. Chips and cake were rustled up and Mr Tiger had his cider, so it wasn’t all bad news.
The afternoon was a bit damper. Light rain but nothing to write home about. Umbrellas and waterproofs came out . (But not Mr Tiger’s cos he’s tough). With worse weather forecast for later, we shaved the teensiest sliver off the afternoon loop.
We rounded things off in the George Ale House, where amongst many other delights, they had Sandfords Scrumpy Some of us had some of that.
