At least n=16 enjoyed this long but beautiful walk in w=perfect-early-autumn-weather. A skip in Ide Hill containing the earthly belongings of a lady was rummaged through and several items were carted off.
These included china mugs, a Constable print of Flatford mill, and old photographs of a now vanished world.
A poignant reminder that it’s not just the seasons that are passing.
Such matters were discussed over drinks in the garden of the Little Brown Jug by the station before we crossed the road and took the train home.
The early start enabled a gentle pace and a stop for coffee at the community shop in Ide Hill. A memorable day out, indeed.
Dumpster divers😮 didn't think swc people needed to do that!
