Given the late start, I will aim for either the 08.24 or 08.54 - in order to enjoy the sunshine.
4 off the train, with 1 other having taken the 7.54, i.e. n=5 blokes, initially under overcast skies, after noon breaking in parts to reveal some blue sky. There was always a breeze, so kind of ideal conditions. The area seems to have some bylaws demanding extensive farming as almost all fields were wildflower meadows or high grass, meaning gazillions of bees, bumblebees, stick insects, butterflies, those wee hopping ones that are not grasshoppers, flies etc
Flowers were predominantly white, yellow and purple, while thistles, brambles and nettles were not much of a problem (yet), the views fantastic, tej scenery very pleasant, the company top notch.
The South Downs Ridge was partly under sea fog/mist when we had views of it, and the early starter we caught just before Netherfield.
The White Hart announced a 30 minutes wait, just to place a food order, so the 2 lunchers survived on nuts and beers.
16.01 train, with the early starter unaccounted for (he left Netherfield early and must have taken a wrong turning/improvised route).
