A coastal
holiday in the beautiful counties of Dorset and Devon. You can admire The Cobb in Lyme Regis the
stone-built breakwater and jetty which has ‘starred’ in such films as Jane
Austen’s Persuasion and The French Lieutenant’s Woman. There are walks through woodlands, the
forested canopy of the Undercliff walk, and rides on the Heritage Seaton
Tramway through the Axe Estuary, and, weather permitting, swimming in the sea.

Train tickets to Axminster now on sale
On Fri 26 June we'll leave Axminster station just after 1pm to walk to Lyme Regis. Start times/bus/ tide info for other walks to be posted shortly.

Hello Ana, Lyme Regis is best place to stay. I believe everyone on this trip will be staying in Lyme Regis. If you stay in Axminster you will be relying on coming to all the walks by bus.

Hi. I can no longer make the trip. I had got the train tickets (return to Axminster, leaving Friday at 10:20 am, back Monday at 20:06) for £41. Happy to transfer it for £20 if anybody is interested.

Is anybody taking late train to Axminster on Friday? (for sharing taxi to Lime Regis)
Travel change:
Just had an email from SWR to say 10.20am on Friday 26th is cancelled BUT that I can take a train immediately before or after that train, and to carry my email just in case. Checked train timetable, and am inclined to catch the 9.25 train changing at Salisbury and arriving Axminster 13.18. There is also the 10.25 train from Waterloo, arriving Axminster at 14.19.
Paul and I planning to catch the 09.25 and then have a leisurely tea Railway Kitchen café on the station platform, and set off at an easy pace towards Lyme Regis. Café open till 3pm, last orders (for food presumably)1.30.
Please bring plenty of water with you.

Gabriella, I was getting the 18.23 but it seems to be cancelled so am likely to get either an earlier one, if i can, or the 18.25 which gets in much later (change at Salisbury) I'm planning to book a taxi once i know which train I'm on - judithharries[at]yahoo.co.uk, let me know what train you are on.
Hi Judith, it’s good to e-meet you. Yes, the same for me, now the journey takes over an hour longer , very annoying ! At least the trains are still running, be grateful for that I suppose. I am planning on taking the 18.25 but if you want the 17.25 l will see if I can leave work early enough to catch that. I’d much rather share a taxi than be alone in Axminster station at 11 pm ! So please let me know what you decide by lunchtime today if you can. Thank you.
