Richmond is also the terminus of a branch of the

Return trains: plenty.
Richmond is in Zone 4.
Meet: outside the station just beyond the ticket gates.
Meet: outside the station just beyond the ticket gates.
Along the Thames and up through Petersham to a viewpoint
in London’s largest Deer Park, followed by a short circuit through it.
Covid-compatibility: the Thames Path may be very busy but we can walk the route in reverse
so that we cover that bit later in the evening.
Food/Drink: plenty of
options near the end if we walk the route in reverse; still a fair amount of
options if walked as prescribed.

n=6 on a w=dry-and-warm-but-sullen evening. Faultless route: Thames Path not too busy at all, the splendid Ham House, the park, some deer, the views from Richmond Hill, a drink at The Roebuck, with THAT famous view across the meadows to Thames and Valley. 21.45 train.
