Sunday Walk: Chesham Circular

Chesham Circular, Book 2 walk 4 (variant)
11.8 km 7.3 miles
3/10
Take the Met Line all the way to the Chilterns. Sweeping views, big trees. Not too long.
Travel:
Get the Metropolitan line to Chesham from Baker Street at 09:50 arriving Chesham at 10:44.
Trains return at xx:23 and xx:53
A Tfl zone 1-9 travel card will do you.
Tfl's Journey planner may help plan the journey from where you live.
Lunch:  the Bell Inn, Chartridge 01494 782 878. I suggest phoning from the station.
Tea: Several places are listed: The quirky Drawing Room in Frances Yard 01494 791 691 is a favourite - it appears to be open till 5 but advisable to phone and check.
Directions: You need two sets of directions, both from this page
- the main Chesham to Great Missenden  directions (on the "Download Walk" button). You follow these as far as point [4]. Apologies to anyone who did this stretch on Tuesday evening - but at least you now have a chance to see it in daylight.
- and the Chesham Circular directions (on the "Chesham Circular" button) for the rest of the walk.

Oh dear, I'm such a dingbat, I came yesterday but somehow I managed to walk off with wrong hiking group ! When I realised my mistake I ran back to the station, but everyone from SWC had gone, and then I discovered that I'd left my smart phone at home so didn't have the instructions for the walk in order to follow you. Luckily all was not lost, I found a pleasant circular 9 miler to Little Missenden and back, and did that instead. I trust that you enjoyed your day and apologise if anyone was worried about me, and have learnt my lesson to always heed the first rule of Saturday Walkers Club !

n=8 w=cloudy but dry. Bell Inn was busy but squeezed us in. Six had an excellent tea in the delightfully quirky ambiance of The Drawing Room.
