n=9 met outside Charing Cross station on what can only be described as a w=freezing-cold-evening. After briefing the team on our proposed itinerary through the West End, we set off for Covent Garden with its glorious tree and hanging mistletoe. The frigid air certainly did not quell the general merriment of the season and the area was buzzing....One stopped for a take away mulled wine as did a second who unfortunately got left behind (but resurfaced later). On we went to Seven Dials with some great decorations, then through Soho to Carnaby Street, down Regent Street and over to Fortnum and Mason (where some had a convenience break) with very festive windows and a fun advent calendar across the front of the building. Then it was up Bond Street where we met our wayward mulled wine drinker at Maddox Street before heading up South Molton to Oxford Street with some pretty new lights. Largely frozen by now, we then headed towards St. Christopher's Place to find a warm place for some food and drink. This area was also pretty busy with lots of outside diners! Three headed home and six of us finally settled on Busaba Thai where we enjoyed a leisurely meal with wine. Many thanks to the two guest "walk leaders" who provided guidance and recommendations on routes between the light displays. Most agreed the lights were very festive and enjoyed the night out!
