Another chance to catch the elusive wood anemones before they go past..... otherwise, this is a varied route through the High Weald with plenty of interest...... More information and the walk instructions can be found here.
The recommended lunch stop is the is the Nevill Crest and Gun (01892-864209) in Eridge Green, which has a large garden and serves good food all day from noon.
There are plenty of tea options back in TW -- not to mention along the route.....

The wood anemones at the top of Harrison’s Rocks, on the longer loop of this walk, are absolutely full out at present: vast carpets of them.
Hot press: there is a brilliant tea shop - with excellent cakes - on the left on the road to the railway station: called Juliet's.
Ooops
Given my first message, I am minded, given the late start, to aim for the 08.54 train at London Bridge, when the sun will have been up for 2+ hours.
#7 alighted at Tunbridge Wells (unsure if Austen arrived on the earlier train – if yes, perhaps he could update the number). Weather was #warm-and-sunny all day with a slight breeze. We set off walking through the suburbs and parks in Tunbridge and then picked up the High Weald Landscape Trail through Frant, and woods promising Bluebells in the coming weeks. Five of us enjoyed a lovely lunch in the gardens of the Nevill Crest and Gun, whilst two had a picnic in the church and were not seen again by us. One stopped to use the facilities on Groombridge station and was rewarded with the entrance of the steam train. We walked through Groombridge Park, and before we knew it, we were in RTW. Most places were closing for tea, but Gails gave us lovely pots of tea and cakes. We caught the 18.09 train home. As promised, we saw swathes of wood anemonies open in the sunshine around Harrison Rocks in the woods. Also seen were deer running in a field, butterflies, and my companion pointed out some people in the distance in Groombridge Park flying a raptor. Thank you Stargazer for posting this lovely walk.
