This is an option from the Meopham circular walk which explores a variety of landscapes in the chalk grassland of the Kent Downs, with an early stretch through redundant farmland being transformed into Jeskyns Community Woodland. After a circuit around a fine collection of veteran trees in Ashenbank Wood the walk comes to the attractive village of Cobham, with a choice of three lunch pubs along its single street.
After lunch the walk goes through the landscaped parkland of Cobham Park with its restored neo-classical monument, the Darnley Mausoleum.

Just #8 today as possibly others were away for Easter, or preparing to go. It was another #sunny-day-with-a-cold-breeze. First time on this walk for me, very nice with the woodland after lunch particularly fine at this time of year and a good display of bluebells late on in Cobhambury Wood. One ate very good value fish and chips at the Ship Inn, others saved themselves for a well-earned pint at the Railway Inn where they were getting ready to cater for a funeral party. Thanks for posting it!
