Length: 13¾ km (8.5 miles). Toughness: 4/10
10:20 East Grinstead train from Victoria (Clapham Jct 10:27, East Croydon 10:40), arriving Woldingham at 10:56. Buy a return to Oxted.
Trains back from Oxted are at xx:20 to London Bridge and xx:23 and xx:53 to Victoria.
This walk goes through a mix of open valleys, woodland and parkland, with a fair bit of climbing packed into its short length.
The up-market Botley Hill Farmhouse (01959 577154) is popular so booking ahead is strongly recommended if you want to eat there but it does have a first-come first-served Sheep Shed Tea Room. The other option would be to skip the out-and-back climb to the pub and carry on to the Titsey Place Tea Room, which now offers light lunches as well as a tempting selection of cakes. The House and gardens are open from 1-5pm (admission £7.50 or £10.00 if you want to tour the house).
I've chosen the Short Walk option because it has a much better set of refreshment places later in the walk, with a pub and coffee shop in Limpsfield as well as several more places in Oxted itself. But if you're feeling energetic you could stick to the more strenuous Main Walk after Titsey Place and circle back to Woldingham.
You'll need to bring the directions from the L=swc.244.a page.

N=15 A w=cloudy-humid day The group moved off a little quicker than your correspondent could manage and were soon specks in the distance .
Despite its length, a tough walk, tougher than 4/10, that’s for sure.. Some interesting twists and turns.
One more.steep uphill before lunch was the last straw. Ignoring Julie Andrew’s’ advice about mountains, your straggler took the lower path. This missed out the lunch stop.
The continuation to Oxted took less time than expected and it was reached by 2 pm. And that’s after a brief stop in the Bull.
Seven of us had Lunch at Botley Hill one arriving by car and four had a drink and their sandwiches in the picnic area. It was full inside when we tried to book but plenty of room outside. Bar staff fantastically efficient at taking orders and food arriving rather too promptly but actually very good. I rashly ordered a coffee as everyone was about to leave and it was a bit slow to appear. I was kindly whisked round to Titsey Manor by the car driver who stayed on for tea. Four of us went to Wetherspoons for a beer where we entertained by a street artist with spinning plates, fire eating and loud afro music an impressive performance.
I heard th at2 more walkers started 30 minutes earlier than the advertised train. So, including 1 who joined the walk at lunchtime, brings the total number of walkers to #18
