Nonsuch Park in the Evening Sun An easy journey from London, this short tour of Warren Farm (woodland Trust) and Nonsuch park can be as long or as short as you'd like it to be. There aren't any directions on the website for the Cheam start but it's only a 12 minute walk from Cheam Station - I'll 'lead' the way until the point where we join the official directions for the loop around the park.

Directions from Cheam station: If arrivng on the train from London, go down the stairs and though the tunnel to the opposite plaform and exit the station there. Continue ahead on Station Way to reach the main road (opposite The Railway Inn pub). Turn right on the main road. At the junction (traffic lights), cross the road and turn left. Then continue ahead on Ewell Road (park on your right) to enter Nonsuch Park at The Avenue entrance. A little further along The Avenue becomes a path and you enter Warren Farm on your left to follow the mapped route (initially in reverse). When you exit Warren Farm, don't turn left. Turn right and re-join the mapped route (in the correct direction now). You are now at Point 39 in the written directions, turning diagonally left to follow the route around the park.

There several pubs and restaurants to choose form back in Cheam, including:

The Railway Inn, a CAMRA pub at 32 Station Way, Cheam, SM3 8SQ. Telephone: 020 8642 7416. Serves Real Ale - not sure if it serves food.

Ye Olde Red Lion, 17 Park Rd, SM3 8QB. 020 8642 5108 (The one with the Priest Hole)

The Harrow Inn, High St, SM3 8RL. Tel: 020 8652 9476

The Grumpy Mole, Ewell Road, SM3 8AA. Tel 0208 394 2000

Pizza Express, 4-6 Ewell Rd, Cheam SM3 8BU

Please download your own copy of the directions from the L=swc.352 web page.

#3 people enjoyed an evening walk around Warren Farm and Nonsuch Park on a #cool_dry evening. Back in Cheam at about 20.30, we stopped at Ye Olde Red Lion, which wasn't too busy and people were happy with what they ordered. We had checked out the popular Railway Inn on our way from the station earlier and it doesn't serve food.
