There was a section across Thursley Heath where an uphill section path had crumbled away which meant a tricky scramble was required. I avoided this by continuing straight on along a well established but unmarked path instead of turning right - I'd be happy to provide details of my short diversion.
Luckily, Mr Tiger and his straggler accidentally missed the correct (but crumbly) path . Their path led through to the road OK, but involved a bit of a walk along it. Win some, lose some.
N=19 at the station, including 1 newbie. A w=sunny day. We set off at quite a lick down the new start. Mr Tiger kept up for a while but was eventually left behind, poor thing.. On the way, he encountered a straggler who was shepherded to the 3 Horseshoes. The heather was in full bloom on the heath.
Most picnicked before the pub. Did I mention they’d run out of cider? Well, they had. 1 more joined us here, a train-misser, who edged the number up to n=20. And one left, edging the number back to n=19
The relentless army marched off again, leaving Mr Tiger by the wayside. He never saw them again, Tell a lie, he bumped into 1 near the Punchbowl cafe.
Went slightly adrift at one point, missing a partly hidden, almost overgrown path. ( if you come to a notice saying “Please close gate. Dog planning escape” you’ve just missed it). (Incidentally, the dog’s plan seems to have worked).
Later, saw a lizard scurrying across the path round the Punchbowl.
In Haslemere, no sign of the others. Got train, went home.
