Six of us met at Harpenden with one new to swc.
Pleasant walking on well marked paths and past Childwickbury manor former home of film director Stanley Kubrick, who directed films such as Space oddity and Clockwork orange.
Lunch was had at the Green man Sandridge where they did excellent Sunday roasts. 3 had picnic in church grounds before joining the others for a beer.
We set off after 1pm to St Albans and were caught in a shower for 20 minutes. The rest of the walk was cloudy but dry and not too muddy.
We arrived at St Albans around 3pm, where the sw walkers split into half. 3 went straight to the station whilst the other half had beer, coffee and cakes, before catching the 1614 train
