#10 at Battle station and with a late lunch stop looming a brisk pace began. The group separated quickly but briefly reconvened in the White Hart where #5 ate (a surprisingly empty pub for a Saturday).

In the main all diners were satisfied (a duck was reportedly overcooked), chips were distributed in true swc style and post meal discussions took place that the £4.50 lime soda might have contributed to the lack of locals :). #1 picnicker and another #1 had pushed on while #3 walkers from the original #10 stopped in the pub for drinks.

The remainder of the walk was in the main a descent into Battle with a short up hill stretch closer to town . In town this walker failed to find an adequate tea stop so to alleviate train drift had a pint at the Battle brewery. A short stroll through the high street for the 17:07. Weather - cloudy and grey skies

N.B This walker found the tarmac sections of the walk tough going whilst others appreciate the respite between the heavy under foot fields.

At Netherfield a Village café is a possible lunch stop (food till 2pm). A bit further along is a possible picnic option at the pond (Rural Bridge) as tables are onsite (more appropriate in spring/summer weather)
