Turnham Green is on the District Line (Ealing Broadway and
Richmond Branches) and on the Piccadilly Line and in Zones 2 and
3.
Scenic stretch of the Thames Path, passing the large Bishop’s Park plus some pocket parks, many south-facing riverside hostelries, historic houses and some interesting new builds, while providing ever changing vistas along and across the Thames. Finish through Chiswick’s lively centre. At the end, along Devonshire Road, Chiswick High Road and Turnham Green Terrace we will have lots of choice for drinks or food.

n=5 got started on time, and just as well, as 2/3 through Bishop's Park we got shadowed by a car marked 'Law Enforcement' (a first for me), whose driver then enquired which gate we were heading for (it was only quarter to 7). Turns out that this is the one park in London where closure times are religiously adhered to, and the far gates are actually closed a few minutes earlier than the posted time. So we slipped out 5 minutes before closure, but the new walkway under the Riverside Stand was already locked. That gave us a 3/4 of the way tour around Craven Cottage at least...
The Thames Path was busy with joggers plus some cyclist but the going was good, and the river itself was very busy with rowers. The views to the south bank were fine, including the well-lit Putney Bridge, plenty of rowing clubs, the ex-Harrods Depository etc. Just the Wetlands in Barnes were completely dark, of course.
Turn right through Chiswick to the High Road, where we settled in at The Hound, then dispersed into our various destinations. w=cold-but-clear
