Apologies for late post. Some misunderstanding in that I assumed another walk poster would be posting for my slot and just checked and noted that they had not.

Two us started the walk from South Woodham Ferrers station. Perhaps people had been put off at the prospect of replacement buses operating after the derailment at Wickford during the heatwave. It was a problem: the supposed connecting train was late so the hourly bus had left Wickford. We shared a taxi with a couple also going to South Woodham Ferrers.
We set off deciding to do the circular walk rather than finish at North Fambridge. The day was warm and sunny throughout. We encountered several ploughed fields which made walking tricky and sometimes it was difficult to know where the footpath went!
We had our picnic in the churchyard at Hanningfield so can't comment on the the Vita Bella. The walk was very pleasant, with some good views across the fields and Estuary.
Arrived back at the station (The Railway Inn was crowded and busy with a loud live band) and after a long wait caught the 17.30 bus back to Wickford to connect with the delayed 17.51 train to Liverpool Street.
