The middle part of SWC 221, The Beverley Brook Walk (Stoneleigh to Fulham
or Putney), in reverse (because the pub near the Barnes end is “Temporarily
Closed”):
It follows one of South West London’s Thames tributaries, the Beverley Brook, from Barnes Common along the fringes of Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common to New Malden, i.e. through some of South London’s most varied and beautiful countryside.
Eat/Drink: Many restaurants just past New Malden station, plus The Glasshouse pub right by the station.

n=3 walkers on a w=cool-but-clear evening.
This was a fine evening for walking, especially during the stretch through Richmond Park, where the low sun created long shadows while bathing the tree leaves in golden rays. There was the customary herd of deer as well to admire...
1 walker then had 'knee' and took a bus from the A road to New Malden, volunteering to select a restaurant for us (which of course would be Korean, as there is little else in New Malden).
The very mud-prone length of path in the far end of Wimbledon Common was still superdry despite recent good rainfall and we got through the golf course before darkness became a major factor.
We met at Kumkang at the far end of High Street after a good 2 hours of walking and had a very enjoyable meal. 22.10 train.
