As submitted by my man on the ground (Railwayman)...
There were n=9 off the posted train at Stonegate. The weather was w=cloudy-with-a-few-spots-of-rain. The walk started out towards Burwash but soon the path was flooded. Some walkers (including a small dog) went off piste to follow the railway whilst others decided to ford the rivers. Two walkers decided to return to Stonegate (one with a leaking wellington boot). Those who forded the rivers repeated the experience and followed those who went ‘off piste’, both groups arriving at the Rose & Crown at Burwash within 15 mins of each other. The pub was welcoming and the food good. The groups joined on the walk to Robertsbridge but used a southern route mostly on road. A drink at the pub at The Ostrich in Robertsbridge was followed by departure for 6 and a small dog on the 17:14 train.
