8 off the train were met by a 9th plus dog and caught up by a later arrival during the morning making a total of n=10 on this lovely walk on a w=mostly-sunny day. Seven had lunch at the Red Lion, three picnicked on the cricket pitch before going into the cafe for hot drinks and a toasted sandwich for one. The 3 picnickers set off ahead of the pub lunchers and were caught up by one of them who took the high road to Black Down while the 3 took the lower route. We met again where the paths crossed and continued to Haslemere arriving just as Hemingways was closing. Takeaway coffee and cake for one before 2 headed to the station where 2 others were waiting for the 16.17 train. Of the pub lunchers, another took the high route and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hopefully everyone finished before dark. A lovely day out in perfect weather conditions.
