Trains: London Victoria 9.55 (Bromley South 10.12) arrives East Malling 10.51.
Return trains from East Malling xx.35 to London Victoria and xx.51 via Maidstone East to Charing Cross.
Lunch: The suggested lunch pub is the Tickled Trout (01622-814717) in West Farleigh, after 10¼ km (12½ km from West Malling).
Tea: the only convenient refreshment place on the East Malling ending is the King & Queen pub (01732-842752). There are several cafes in West Malling if you finish there.

I didn't count, but n=10 on this new walk for all of us. We were equipped for rain but w=fine_all_day. We picnicked by the river, making use of the (closed) bakery seating area. Navigation went slightly wrong joining the Medway Valley Way, with us ducking under barbed wire to get back on track. We missed out the loop to the lunch pub, and all headed back to East Malling, where most got the 1535 and three stopped for a quick drink before getting the 1551 via Maidstone East. For future reference, our East Malling tickets were accepted doing this route and there is just about time enough to get refreshments for the journey back.
