Meet 18.30 hours prompt outside The Banker pub (Fuller’s) on the Thames Path, 200 metres from Cannon Street Station.
Finish: Canary Wharf Clipper Pier or Canary Wharf
Stations (Jubilee or Elizabeth Lines, Zone 2).
“An easy amble following the Thames Path between
Cannon Street and Canary Wharf, passing through historic Wapping. Along the
way, the route passes some historic pubs – two of which claim to be the oldest
riverside pub in London – you decide which has the best claim. Instructions are
hardly required for this route – simply keep the river to your right – though
occasionally the Thames Path leaves the riverside...” Note: some stretches of the riverside path are private
and are closed off in the evening and you will have to follow the road. Also,
there is still a diversion in place at the Tideway site some way through the route.
Pubs passed en route: The Town of Ramsgate (a Freehouse), Captain Kidd
(Sam Smith’s), The
Prospect of Whitby (Greene King), The
Grapes (owned by Sir Ian McKellen amongst others). Many food and
drink options in Canary Wharf.
