Evening Walk: Regent's Park and Primrose Hill (plus Frieze Sculpture Park)

Evening Walk: Regent's Park and Primrose Hill (plus the Frieze Sculpture Display)

Meet: Regent’s Park tube station at 18.00 hours. Regent’s Park is on the Bakerloo line in Zone 1.

Finish Chalk Farm or Camden Town stations, which are on the Northern Line and in Zone 2.

A stroll through Regent's Park, including an examination of this year’s offerings at the Frieze Art Fairs Sculpture Park; then along the Grand Union Canal with a final climb up Primrose Hill for fine views over London.

Regent’s Park closes at some point after 19:00 -- but  Primrose Hill is open 24/7. We should have enough time to visit the sculptures and clear the gates..... In the worst case scenario, the vehicular gates stay open until midnight......

There are various options for post walk refreshments --  The Princess of WalesTheengineer or The Pembroke.

More information and walk instructions can be found here.

n=10 on this enjoyable outing on a w=clear-and-mild-evening. With some time pressure on making it through the park before the official closing time, those gathered at the appointed place at the appointed time set off promptly after a brief introduction and formalities -- leaving one to catch us up admiring the sculptures in Regent's Park. Sorry if we left anyone else behind.... We generally thought the sculptures were interesting and engaging -- a smaller, but better quality collection this year I thought. Well worth a visit for anyone who could not make evening walk. After enjoying the art work, we reassembled at a designated time to continue the route -- no issue at all exiting the park and joining the canal towpath. After a good stretch along the canal, we headed up Primrose Hill and admired a clear view of London from Canary Wharf to the new developments near Battersea..... St. Paul's was very modest compared to the more modern landmarks! Eventually, we heard the pub calling -- so set off on a slightly alternate route to avoid the main road and all (plus the son of one) settled into the downstairs area of the Princess of Wales for an enjoyable meal and/or drinks. A fun night out in good company with excellent group cohesion!
