Thursday Evening: Lovely Lullingstone Lavender near Shoreham

SWC 289: Shoreham Circular (North Loop with short cut) t=swc.289

Distance: Approximately 5.5 miles or 9 km for those more metrically minded

Difficulty: 3 out of 10

Train: 17:54 Hasting train from London Bridge with change in Sevenoaks (18:18 arrival/18:22), arriving Shoreham at 18:32.

Return: 21:02; 21:15; 21:32; 21:45; 22:02; 22:15; 22:32; 22:45; 23:02 (to a variety of London-bound destinations)

The short northern loop of this walk (with short cut) makes for a lovely little evening country walk….an easy journey from London and gentle undulating countryside….with a splash of purple ….The walk route passes by the usually very impressive lavender field at Castle Farm which should be in good bloom now…

More information about the route can be found here.

For anyone joining the walk independently, looks like the specified train from LBG will miss the connection at Sevenoaks....so we will be 30 mins late and just reverse walk to the lavender and return to the Mount Inn. Hope to see you en route....

Three were on the train from LBG that missed the connection at Sevenoaks. We filled the time until the next train by walking over to the convenience store nearby and buying G&Ts. We communicated with 2 who had arrived in Shoreham at the appointed time to find no others. We decided to take our train Eynsford and walk back to Shoreham which make a nice shorter route. Near the Castle Lavender Farm we met the 2 who has started in Shoreham and opted for an out & back option. Shortly after, we bumped into walker n=6 who had driven to Shoreham but thought the meet was at 19:00... After the walk in w=perfect-conditions 5 had exotic pizzas and wine at the winery. The lavender was lovely.
