Length: 9.5 miles (15 km) 2/10
In response to a special request - this is an undemanding walk of pleasant valleys and woodland. Reported not to have been muddy a week ago with good colour. It's similar to the Shiplake to Henley walk, but in the opposite direction, and you could finish in Shiplake.
Travel: Get the 1008 from Paddington, changing at Twyford (1041/1045) to arrive at Henley-on-Thames 1057. Returns at 00 and 30.
Or
Using Elizabeth line, “Reading” train to Twyford, leaves Liverpool Street at 0936, Tottenham Court Road 0942, Paddington 0948, Ealing Broadway 0956 and gets you to Twyford at 1033.
Lunch: You should get to the The Bottle & Glass (5.5 miles/ 9km) by 1.30; it serves food till 3. Two courses £16 including glass of wine. Picknickers should stop in the woods before the pub.
Tea: numerous options in Henley. The Chocolate Cafe (01491 411412) and the Catherine Wheel (Wetherspoons, 01491848488) are popular with Saturday walkers.
Shortening the walk: Finishing in Shiplake (paragraph 20 of the instructions) shortens the walk to 8 miles/13 km.

Note that the big barn area for casual eating at the pub is now only open at weekends. The pub does have a small bar area.
N=20 on a w=dry-cloudy day First half fairly firm underfoot . There was mud later. The group had fragmented by lunch. Most ate alfresco, some in the woods, others in the pub garden. These continued ahead. 4 ate in the Bottle and Glass. The food was well received by the 4, who had waited a long time for it. A 5th just had cider. No chips for Mr Tiger, though, too posh for chips. (But a kindly benefactor did proffer some nuts later).
The Thames Path was closed near Marsh Lock and a diversion was in place. The route back to the Thames was not clearly signposted, at least not in the fading light, and two got wet feet splashing through the marshy ground Those two just missed the 16:30 and had to get the 17:00.
