Evening Walk: They’re back….the Canary Wharf Winter Lights

Evening Walk: The Canary Wharf Winter Lights Walk (map-led)

Distance:          Approximately 2 miles/4.5 km (2 hours)

Difficulty:         1 out of 10

Meet:                18:30 at Canary Wharf Jubilee Line exit (DLR side

Return:             Jubilee Line/Elizabeth Line/Clipper/DLR

After a two-year hiatus, the Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival is back! We will take this opportunity to explore the 2023 light installations – looks like some interesting new ones, together with some old favorites!  So, wrap up warm and come enjoy the fun! We will more or less follow the route as suggested by the Festival Map.

Looks like there will be outdoor food and drink offerings along the way…..Additionally, there are plenty of watering holes in Canary Wharf for post walk refreshies…..

Enjoy the walk!

15 gathered at the appointed meeting place for the usual formalities before setting off to visit the winter lights on a w=cold-breezy night. Along the way, 3 others joined, making a total of n=18.
We diligently followed the suggested route occasionally losing then reconnecting our large contingent. I thought most of the installations were interesting and well worth a gander. Back at Earth, 12 headed to west india quay for some drinks and pizza before heading home. A fun night out! If you missed it and want to see the winter lights, you have a second chance on Sunday.
