This walk's notes mention some heathland and sandy soil so perhaps this is a good time to give it an outing. This shorter version takes you through Alice Holt Ancient Forest, Surrey Hills, Scotch Pine Forest, and remote heather filled heathland, Frensham Great and Little Ponds.

The Barley Mow in Tilford (01252 792205) is 7.8 miles into the short walk. It's website says it is open until 3pm and to book a table in advance or phone if booking on the day.

Tea: Farnham town is just past the station. The Hotel does teas, has a nice garden and has always welcomed walkers in the past. There are also a few cafes and pubs dotted around so maybe stroll around and take a look. The walk notes mention these pubs:
