I’m interested in this, though what does it mean to “ just prom on the day”? Can you just walk up and get a ticket?
Hi Matthew, I just added a link in the post which explains promming and how to get a ticket. Hope it helps.
Very helpful, thanks!
As with Prom 44 here's an additional note to Lucilla's instructions for Promming. If you don't have an account at the RAH, you'll need to set one up which you can do at https://tickets.royalalberthall.com/account/register
Then on any day you wish to "Prom", go to https://www.royalalberthall.com/ just before 10:30 am and sign on (top right silhouette)
On the left hand menu that appears click Day Promming just after 10:30 am
If no tickets are shown try refreshing the page after a minute as ticket availability is time restricted.
I Hope this is helpful and don't forget to join us on the steps of the Royal Albert Memorial (weather permitting) if you're successful!
Hi, Im promming for this concert. can you please add me to the whatsapp group. eliz parker 07813350952
The music is still echoing in my ears as I write…. what a fantastic night that was, not just the popularity of the music but also brilliant performance by musicians. The conductor, Paavo Jarvi was animated and precise in his notes, he led a very expressive and energetic orchestra. The highlight of the night was the violin concerto performed by Augustin Hadelich who had a personal tragedy at a young age but fought on to become a rising star despite odds against him. He was absolutely exquisite. All agreed, this must have been one of the top proms we’ve seen over the years. No wonder tickets were sold out in very early days of the season. What’s more, even the day promming tickets, 1000 of them, went in a flash. Sadly, 4 of our walkers were caught out in the frenzy, did not manage to get promming tickets. That did not deter two walkers to come to picnic, we met them again plus the third prommer, also without ticket, at interval for a reunion. The fourth disappointed prommer followed the concert on Radio 3 and participated in our Whatsapp discussions at the interval. So n=12. A great night out in excellent company, physical or virtual…..
