A walk to the medieval village of Chiddingfold, then through Frillinghurst Wood and several National Trust estates to Haslemere.
Trains Get the 10:05 from Waterloo (Clapham Junction 10:13), arriving Witley 11:06.
Trains return from Haslemere at xx:17 and xx:49. Get a return to Haslemere.
Lunch: A choice of two pubs in Chiddingfold.
The 600 year old Crown Inn. Best to phone (01428 682 255). An old king stayed here once upon a time in olden days, and there's a plaque to prove it.
Round the corner, there's the Swan (01428 684 688). Beer’s good, if I remember right.
There's also a coffee shop nearby, on The Green. Now called Elliotts, it is open Sundays till 3.
Tea: These days, the tea stop tends to be Hemingway's in Haslemere High St. There's pubs there too.

The Trainline App is showing that both the 10.05 and 11.03 trains to Witley are cancelled.
