The bright sun at times lit up the clouds and made the Chess river glitter. As expected it was too early for the celandine wood - instead we had plenty of horses, geese, kites and at least three lots of llamas. The morning was relatively mud free, & we arrived at the pub 10mins before opening. Sandwiches enjoyed the churchyard. Most of us had a drink in the friendly pub, praised for its beef sandwiches.<br /><br />The afternoon had a lot of mud, which was disappointing. We scattered in Chesham, but most went for the train.
