Evening Walk - River Brent, Grand Union Canal and Osterley Park: Boston Manor to Osterley

Length: 6.2 km (3.8 mi)
Net Walking Time: 1 ½ hrs

Meet: Boston Manor Station at 19.00 hours. Boston Manor is on the Piccadilly line in Zone 4. Travel Time from Earl’s Court is 20 mins, from Leicester Square it’s 34 mins.
Finish: Osterley  station, which is on the Piccadilly line in Zone 4, one stop further to the west.

This walk takes you along the River Brent and the Grand Union Canal and through Osterley Park. The grounds to Osterley Park & House will be closed for the day.

Eat/Drink: The Hare and Hounds.

8 on time, 1 other delayed, 1 other more delayed (both due to an earlier Jubilee Line suspension), i.e. n=10 in w=warm-and-sticky weather.
Nice walking along the River Brent/Grand Union Canal (they are the same waterbody on this stretch) and across a lock, then there is a 3 minute stretch of rather claustrophobic path parallel to an indistrial single track railway line and a bit of M4 noise, and then some actually quite interesting semi-wilderness. The pub (Fuller's) is quite good, about half of people ordered a meal, eaten outside under the Heathrow flight path. 4 moved on after a drink to beat the darkness, the rest kind of achieved that as well.
Oh, we saw a large herd of albino cows...
