Evening Walk: The Line Modern Art Walk (Stratford to North Greenwich)

The Line Modern Art Walk (Stratford to North Greenwich)  T=Short.21

Meet: 18:30 hours prompt outside Stratford Station, next to ‘Robert’, a heritage locomotive displayed on the station forecourt (on the town side -- not the Westfield side).

Distance: Up to 5 miles or 8.2 km, including a few stops on the DLR and ride over the IFS Cloud Cable Car.

This walk walks "the Line" -- London's first modern art walk. It initially follows the River Lea, takes a DLR journey, a flight on the Cloud Cable Car and ends along the Thames with about almost 2 dozen pieces of art speckled along the way...Unfortunately, the original route via Cody Dock now requires a slight diversion due to the closure of the dock by 6pm.

More information and the instruction for the walk can be found here.

Eight assembled at the appointed place and time and gave a 5 minute grace with one more arrival before setting off on a newer start to the walk than I had done before....Where the new start meets the old start, we were met by one more late starter, making for n=10 on this w=chilly-but-clear-evening. Disappointingly some of the works no longer seem to be on the route as indicated -- though there were a couple of newer pieces from 2022 and 2023. We opted for the alternate route bypassing Cody Docks which is a bit industrial..... We took the DLR to Victoria Docks and then enjoyed the ride across the Thames on the Cloud Cable Car which had fine views. We finished up with the final pieces along the Thames by the O2 and then all headed for Busaba Thai for heat and nourishment....
