N=4 w=dry-cloudy-cold-but-not-fr...The walk went ok. N=4 w=dry-cloudy-cold-but-not-freezing Hints of sleet in the wind at times. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground, particularly in the morning. There were muddy patches too - a short stretch in the morning and two stretches in the afternoon. One walker was disqualified for cheating (took a shorter way back to avoid the climb onto the ridge). One criticism was that the first pub (the Whip) comes up too soon (we arrived at 12 after a dawdly morning) and the second pub (the Boot) too late. That said, the Whip has a good choice of beer, some unusual ciders, and people seemed happy with their food.Ian Tnoreply@blogger.com
