London Loop - stage 1: Erith to Bexley
Length: 13.5 km (8.5 miles).
At last weekend engineering works do not scupper the start or the finish of the first stage of the London Loop walk from Erith to Bexley.
Catch the 10:27 from Cannon Street, arrives Erith 11:02. Ticket: Pay as you go oyster or zone 1-6 travelcard. Frequent return trains from Bexley.

Enjoyable day out, seeing a massive oil/gas container coming down the Thames was striking. However, quite a bit of this walk is along industrial estates, suburban roads and connected local green spaces, so it's not the greatest example of England's green and pleasant land. Saying that, I would still recommend a visit because the whole area feels different to what Saturday walkers usually walk in. n=7
