Exposed hot walk with little breeze to cool on a relentlessly sunny and humid day. All refreshment stops visited by most walkers.
sounds horrendous ?!
Managed to short circuit some of the really exposed part by visiting the first refreshment stop which was at aston tirrold . It turned out to be a foodie pub and proper restaurant. I had the wild mushroom soup which was served with a red nasturtium on top. Not to be missed but pricey if you have a main course.
would say well worth it if you feel like splashing out.jfk the hostess will look after you if you ring ahead to let her know.
